My Approach
As a children's Neuro-affirming counsellor and Positive Behaviour Support practitioner, my approach is rooted in providing holistic (the child as a whole) and individualised support to all children and their families. This is a space where I share in your journey, offering therapeutic creative (art/craft), Therapeutic Sandtray, Walk and Talk Therapy, Counselling, Therapeutic Play, and Positive Behaviour Support.
My aim is to create a safe, affirming environment where children and families can flourish. I am dedicated to ensuring that there are no barriers to support, regardless of diagnosis or labels. I welcome all children, adolescents, and teens, as well as parents and women needing support.
Under Counselling, I am available for private clients without NDIS funding, and I also work with NDIS clients under the Capacity Building (therapies) category. And for Positive Behaviour Support I work under the NDIS Guidelines. My practice is underpinned by neuro-affirming principles, and a child centred approach. I aim to support each child and family in a way that is unique to their needs and values.
During therapy we might draw from a variety of modalities and philosophies from CBT, DBT, Neuroception for children. I provide sessions using Affirming Positive Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Coaching, Therapeutic Play, the use of Therapeutic Art, plus Emotional and Sensory Regulation Strategies. These are woven into playful, child-centred sessions. Kids spend time talking, learning coping skills, and in the play and sensory space where feelings are explored through play, movement and creativity.
I also work closely with parents, offering regular updates, supportive at home tools, co-regulation strategies and parent-only sessions where needed, to make sure what happens in therapy connects to what is happening at home and because I believe true growth happens when everyone feels supported.
Through counselling, play and talking, kids can work through their feelings and process their emotions in a child-friendly way, which can boost confidence and self-esteem.
Sessions are offered in the Therapy Room/Sensory-Play Studio, at your home, school or another location to suit the therapy.
